get your priorities crooked

so here are my mother's priorities: starbucks, the seahawks, the mariners, and any other professional sports team in the pacific northwest.

a recent conversation with my mother.

"my friend hernando doesn't understand why i don't want to move to arkansas to be closer to my family. i could never leave seattle; i love it here. besides, the seahawks aren't in arkansas. and the mariners aren't in arkansas. i mean, how far away is st. louis?"

"i don't know."

"see, i'd have to drive hours just to see a professional sports team. you know i love sports. i joined the air force so i could go places. i'm an active person, you know."

i guess her two children living in arkansas don't count for much as far as convenience goes. being one state away from a professional sports team would be way worse than half the country away from her children.

not that i want her to move to arkansas anyway. but it's the principle of the matter.
